Olympia High School's girls track team wrapped up a memorable season with strong representation at the state prelims in Charleston at EIU. Although the results weren’t exactly what the team had hoped for, the girls demonstrated determination, teamwork, and the spirit of champions.
The 4x800 relay team — Amelia, Mira, Kaylie, and Emma — gave it their all, though the race didn’t unfold as they had envisioned. The 4x100 squad — Mya, Charlee, Madyson, and Gabby — delivered a standout performance with flawless handoffs and a strong finish. In the 4x400 relay, Charlee, Mira, Amelia, and Emma faced tough competition. While a few had an off day, their effort and heart were unmistakable.
In the field events, Charlee and Annaston represented Olympia in the long jump. Both athletes proudly hit the board — an impressive feat, especially as a sophomore and freshman. Just making it to state at their age is an accomplishment worth celebrating.
While the team had hoped to advance to finals and spend one more day in Charleston, the season still ends on a high note. Each of these athletes had an outstanding sectional and earned their place at state through hard work, perseverance, and passion. They should be proud of everything they’ve achieved.

Lots of students are exploring and developing their own identities, and they often do this online and on social media. Some kids use multiple accounts, each for a different audience, but with this, what’s real and what’s unrealistic can often get blurred. In this video, your kids can hear other teens talk about the ins and outs of presenting themselves to others online, and consider what it means to “be yourself” in digital spaces.
