OHS students are taking their skills into the community through internships! PreK students at South ended their week with some yoga. Great way to work on gross motor and to learn how to have fun while doing it!

Congratulations to Kate Berry & Rebecca Meissner on receiving a grant from the Illinois Digital Educator Alliance for Green Screens! Green screens, once a staple of any special effects film studio, are now becoming an exciting and realistic addition for any classroom. A green screen allows students to discuss, evaluate or reflect on their learning using their imagination and digital skills. @ideaillinois #IDEAil #IDEAcon

MS Cheer date changes - tryouts will be Wednesday, Jan 27th, Friday, Jan 29th and Monday, Feb. 1st - all in the HS Cafe until 5:30pm. Shuttle bus runs at 5:45pm.

Middle Boys Basketball practice change --- Tuesday Jan. 26th, 6th grade boys at Oly West --- Wednesday Jan. 27th, 7th and 8th grade at Oly West.

MS Volleyball - 7th grade will now practice on Wednesday the 27th with 6th grade. 8th grade is still planned for Tuesday, the 26th - all after school in the MS Gym.

OMS students investigating the problem solving process! During this inquiry, they planned and designed aluminum boats which transport pennies.

High School wrestling will begin contact day practices on Monday Jan. 25th after school. Remember to register on 8to18, have a current physical turned in and a signed Covid release form.

MS Cheer - Tryouts are Monday 25th and Wednesday the 27th after school in the HS Cafe ending at 5:30, shuttle leaves at 5:45pm MS Dance - Practice is Wednesday 27th after school in the MS Cafe ending at 5:30pm, shuttle leaves at 5:45pm.

MS Boys Basketball practice next week: 8th - Monday 25th & Thursday the 28th, 7th - Tuesday the 26th & Friday the 29th, 6th - Wednesday the 27th. All practices are at West and will end at 5:30, shuttle from MS leaves at 5:45pm.

MS Volleyball - practice next week: 7th - Monday 25th, 8th - Tuesday 26, 6th - Wednesday 27th. Whole Group Thursday and Friday all in the MS Gym until 5:30, shuttle runs at 5:45pm.

Sixth grade students are using the Lift-a-Line Strategy today to complete a skill check by finding prepositional phrases in their own books. This is a fantastic strategy to help students cite evidence from a text and make connections! #ReadersAreLeaders

HS Boys Basketball V and JV will resume practice on Jan. 20th after school in the high school gym. Freshman Boys will practice after school at North on Jan. 20th - shuttles will run to and from practice. All boys will practice before school on Jan. 21st at the HS.

HS – Boys Swimming – practice will resume Jan. 20th after school. Dates of future meets will be announced at a later time.

MS Dance – will resume practice on Jan. 27th after school in the middle school cafeteria.

MS Boys Basketball – can start practice right away. 8th will practice/tryout after school on Jan. 20th, 7th on Jan. 21st and 6th on Jan. 22nd all at Oly West. Make sure you are registered on 8to18, have a current physical turned in and COVID release form.
